Psalm (to forgive) 94

Teach me to forgive, Lord;
~~teach me to give as before.

I was an innocent injured, offended, orphaned;
~~I was abandoned to wander the hungry mouth of night.

In the belly of pain, I was fit with anger;
~~in desire's dark gut, my force was seized with war and prayer.

Seeking comfort aside from the Comforter, I was shaken: forgive me;
~~following power outside the Almighty, I was broken: teach me to be pure.

That I may give as You give, Lord,
~~lead me to myself once more.

Psalm 79

In this place is the heart of the world;
~~the center of desire is in this sacred home.

In its embrace are two holy shrines;
~~pilgrims enter a fortified city, an embattled country,
~~land and limb blessed by the tree of life, its seed of peace.

Psalm 78

To wake is to see;
~~to awaken and see is to view a new sky.

To see as an eagle, which abides by the wisdom of the Lord, is to look to His delight;
~~to look to the light is to find the heart’s eye.

Psalm (follow) 93

Love God with all your heart, and follow your heart;
~~love God, heart, and follow.

The maiden flight risks all, full wing and emptying,
~~as does honest conversation.

First cast your heart onto the shore:
~~continents of wonderment will teem with being.

Psalm 77

Not Sultan, Shah, nor Caesar, none;
~~none but God and God alone:

He sends His blessed Rain, His human Word,
~~and once again, His Blessed endures the human sword.

The more able their attempts to wound,
~~the more capable is His Strength found.

The more they try to bury the Promised One,
~~the more their fury wish the Promise gone;
~~the more splendidly has His Light always shone.
